Ex-Mars Volta Drummer Tapped For Cavalera/Puciato Project

Dave Elitch

In a recent interview, The Dillinger Escape Plan‘s Greg Puciato revealed that former The Mars Volta drummer Dave Elitch has been tapped to handle drums for Puciato‘s new side project with Max Cavalera.

That’s phat! Anyone who was in the Volta has got chops, so you know whatever he brings to the table will be pure genius.

Cavalera and Puciato continue working on songs for their forthcoming LP. Puciato took to Twitter not long ago to tease the project, which he called “dark.” He also said that they’ve come up with “fifteen songs that nobody else has.”

In a recent interview, Cavalera said that extra musicians are being considered for the project. The debut offering from the duo will be recorded later this year and will be released in 2012.
