Ex-Mars Volta Frontman Names New Band

Cedric

What started out as a solo effort has now become a band undertaking.

Former The Mars Volta/At The Drive-In frontman Cedric Bixler-Zavala has revealed his new collection of musicians has a name.

Zavalaz.

Christ, that’s a horrible fucking band name.

Sorry, Cedric. It is.

I know it’s your last name, with a Z, but…you could have come up with anything better.

The band’s lineup boasts Dan Elkan on guitar and backing vocals, Greg Rogove on drums and vocals, and bassist Juan Alderete de la Peña.

The band’s new album should be out before the end of the year.
