I’m not a huge fan of Kickstarter. Sometimes, records just aren’t meant to be made. Hate to say it, but if you want to make a record, find a way — don’t grovel.
That said, former Misfits frontman Michale Graves has launched a Kickstarter campaign to fund his next solo record.
Graves will enter Soundmine Recording Studio in November to begin tracking his new album, Vagabond. The album will be released March 21, 2013.
The CD’s going to be produced by Hydraulic Entertainment (huh?) and feature 11 new and never-before-released songs. Graves is the head of Hydraulic Entertainment’s music group.
They’re folky and poppy, so…not sure anyone who reads this site will be down to support this album’s creation.
“I have been a performer for 17 years and have had the chance to travel the world and experience so many incredible people along the way,” Graves boasts. “I live for performing and have been on tour so much that I haven’t had the ability to record a new album in over four years. Working in conjunction with Kickstarter, I now have the ability to access those who mean the most — my fans — and create something unique for them.”
As of this writing, 99 people pledged about $6,000 to the project. He’s got 24 days to raise the rest of the $20,000 needed for the album’s recording.
I’m waiting for the Kickstarter campaign that promises sexual favors for cash. “$8,000 gets you head, with the guarantee of a cock vomit explosion.”
