So, with Type O Negative done — for all intents and purposes — it’s surviving members are doing their own thing now, and moving on from the heartache of frontman Peter Steele’s mysterious, sudden, and unexpected death.
Former Type O Negative and Life of Agony drummer Sal Abruscato is back on the scene with a new project called A Pale Horse Named Death. He’s joined by producer and engineer Matt Brown in the outfit, with more details available at their official site. Sal sings, plays guitar, and writes the band’s songs.
According to a press release, “Sal and Matt are currently in the midst of negotiations with several record companies, to determine which label will release And Hell Will Follow Me,” A Pale Horse Named Death’s debut. You can hear tracks from that disc at the band’s official Website.
The band’s site was created to model a fan-driven social network. “Bands need to do more! They need to listen and engage their fan base,” the band says in a statement. “It just made sense for us to roll up our sleeves and rub elbows with our fans, ask them what they think to make better and informed decisions for our band’s future, based on what our fans…or customers you could say…think! We intend to do exactly that with our site.”
