Many of you will read this and think, “Wait, who’s launching a Kickstarter campaign?”
Yes, Eye of the Destroyer are a band you’ve probably never ever heard of, because they’re young, unsigned, and probably better suited for our Readers’ Bands column than an actual news post.
But there are two reasons why I decided to throw the guys a bone here. First, they live two towns over in beautiful Jersey City, where my grandparents lived and my mom grew up.
Plus, I am in a good mood and they’re running a Kickstarter campaign, so they have no time to sit around and wait for coverage. Time is crucial.
Chris Loach, a member of the band, contacted us by email about the campaign for their new album, which is seeking a paltry $1,500.
The death metal band’s album is already recorded and ready for release. The crowdfunding money will help the band distribute the disc and get their music out there.
“It would really help a lot if you can do a write up on it on your site,” says Chris. “Yes, we probably suck but take a look anyway.”
You’re not all that bad, dude.
Interestingly, one of the perks the band’s offering to funders is an epic traditional protein-based breakfast, cooked by Loach as he wears black ninja uniform.
“No eye contact, no refills,” the perk advises.
Good luck, fellas. Hope this post helps a touch.
