Faith No More’s Mike Patton: The King Of Range

Corey Taylor also has a wide range

This article, which I discovered while visiting ThePRP, claims something I have known for years: No one’s got better pipes than Mike Patton.

It has been determined that the Faith No More, Tomahawk, Loveage, Mr. Bungle, Peeping Tom, and Fantômas singer produces the broadest range of octaves.

The authors of the article determined Patton has a handle on six octaves, 1/2 note (Eb1 to E7.)

Meanwhile, Slipknot and Stone Sour frontman Corey Taylor came in just behind Mike with 5 octaves, 5-1/1 notes (Eb1 to C7).

The article also examines the talents of Guns N’ Roses frontman Axl Rose, HIM’s Ville Vallo, Devin Townsend, Deftones frontman Chino Moreno, King Diamond, Peter Steele, and many more.

I would have thought Chino or Devin was #2, but who am I, other than a blogger with impeccable taste?
