Me? I’m having a fairly shitty week.
I’ve been debilitatingly depressed, have had trouble concentrating on work, and last night, I’m fairly certain me and the girlfriend ended things.
But I feel much worse this week for Todd La Torre, who just lost his father.
The Queensrÿche frontman’s dad killed himself yesterday morning.
William La Torre was a well-known chiropractor in Florida, where Todd was raised.
Police found his body in his office, with a gun nearby.
There was no suicide note.
Our thoughts are with Todd at this time.
The singer writes online:
“As many of you have become aware, my father is no longer with us. I haven’t disclosed anything to the press, as to preserve some privacy during this time. It has since been made aware to the public by the media, reaching outlets well outside of my local Tampa Bay area.
“Although this is a very difficult time, this post is only to confirm that we will not be cancelling any shows. I have responsibilities to uphold, and will do whatever I can to perform to the best of my abilities considering the circumstances.
“Thank you for your support. Sincerely, Todd.”
Stay strong, Todd. Stay strong.
Oh, and if you didn’t realize this already, Todd fronted Queensrÿche is the best thing to happen to this band since the 1980s.
