Earlier this year, ex-Fear Factory guitarist Christian Olde Wolbers (Arkaea, Beowülf) was involved in a serious motorcycle accident.

Since then, he’s been unable to work and his medical bills have been stacking up.

Hence, he’s launched a GoFundMe.com campaign to raise cash to help pay those expenses.

He offers:

“It’s been 6 months since my motorcycle accident on the 405 freeway in Los Angeles. I was pinched by a car who swerved into me while he was texting and I was passing his vehicle, I didn’t go down but had some damage so while I was trying to exit the freeway I got cut off and slammed in the back of a pick up/camper truck on my motorcycle. I sustained some really severe injuries and am lucky to heal most of them (femur, 10 broken ribs, fractured spine, broken shoulders and multiple broken bones) without complications, except my ankle and foot that endured some heavy trauma.

“I have had 4 surgeries so far and next month hopefully will be my last surgery as they need to reattach my achilles. It’s a big surgery as they need to grab a donor muscle out of the inside of my leg to use for the achilles reattachment. Heavy stuff. I haven’t been able to walk and after my next surgery i am hoping to be able to start rehab in the fall and make my first steps early next year. fingers crossed.

“I haven’t been able to work and then there’s the medical costs. So I am trying to raise some money to help with my next surgery and am offering guitar/bass lessons, or help with your music, arranging, writing, playing on your songs, talk about gear or just have a chat.. whatever, if you book the time the time is yours.”

So far, he’s raised half of the $6,000 and change he’s asking for.
