It feels like we first heard about Giraffe Tongue Orchestra years ago.

The supergroup featuring members of Mastodon and The Dillinger Escape Plan was long rumored, then confirmed, eventually named, and finally hit a recording studio for their debut album.

I, for one, have been curious since the start to know what the band sounds like. Now, I have some sort of idea. And that idea is that it’s going to be awesome.

Ben Weinman of Dillinger and the band’s producer, Steve Evetts, have both posted videos online, offering us a glimpse into Giraffe Tongue Orchestra’s sound.

Those videos follow below.

One boasts Dethklok’s Pete Griffin, the band’s new bassist. He’s been tapped to replace ex-Jane’s Addiction bassist Eric Avery.

The band also involves ex-The Mars Volta drummer Thomas Pridgen and will seemingly feature vocal contributions from Juliette Lewis and Burning Brides vocalist and guitarist Dimitri Coats.

What the heck is going on here?? #GTO @benweinman @badassthomaspridgen @petegriffinbass @bhinds @juliettelewis
