Top of the morning, to ya!
You may or may not know this, but God Forbid have been working on their next album with producer Mark Lewis, who has helmed recent efforts by The Black Dahlia Murder and Unearth.
The disc will be issued through a new partnership with Victory Records. The band has checked in from the studio with a little insight into the process.
Most bands — for those that don’t know — have some sort of dry erase board list they keep in the studio to manage all of their new tunes as they’re being recorded.
God Forbid’s Doc Coyle recently posted the photo online. The power and beauty of social networking, my friends! It’s a wonderful thing. I don’t know how is bloggers would get any information any more without Facebook and Twitter. Honest to goodness. It’s also very evil, but more on that in the next Obscura post…back to God Forbid.
Producer du jour Jason Suecof (Charred Walls of The Damned, Trivium) is overseeing the vocals for the disc, while the mighty Jens Bogren (Opeth, Katatonia) will handle the mix.
Some of the working song titles for the new disc include “Where We Come From” [Edit: The answer is New Jersey…just saying], “Slayerized,” “Triumph,” “Fear,” “Closure,” and “Equilibrium.”
