In our ongoing series of guest columns, we’ve asked a bunch of metal’s heaviest hitters to provide us with a list of five albums they think will change you — either for the better or worse. Today’s list comes compliments of London-based band Eye of Solitude’s Daniel Neagoe; more information on the band can be found here.
Cannibal Corpse — The Bleeding
My very first death metal album…so this is where it all began. I was simply fascinated by the brutality and relentless rhythms so I make it number one on my list.
Autopsy — Acts Of The Unspeakable
Heavy, mid-tempo, perfect for the atmosphere the record is spreading to my ears, a brilliant material that cannot go unseen!
Morbid Angel — Blessed Are The Sick
Pete Sandoval. Period. He is one of my favorite death metal drummers — an icon, if I may say so.
Kataklysm — Sorcery
Old school, really impressed by the vocals at that time; that’s what really inspired me to do death metal vocals
Napalm Death — Utopia Banished
Excellent album; one of my all time favourite. Simple, brutal, and straight in your face!
