Guest Column: Three Movies You Need To See By NervoChaos

These three classic films need to be seen

After Dustin Boltjes of Skeletonwitch — one of our newest writers — contributed a column on must-see horror flicks, we decided to open the topic up to the members of other bands. Why? Well, in addition to music and literature, we’re huge movie buffs and feel maybe your life could benefit from a big screen broadening.

So here for you now is a new column from the members of NervoChaos.

This 1983 film directed by Brian De Palma and written by Oliver Stone with Al Pacino, Michelle Pfeiffer and Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio amongst others. The film tells the story of a Cuban refugee, Tony Montana, who arrives in Miami in 1980, with nothing and rises up to become a powerful drug lord. Excessive violence, strong language and hard drug usage in this classic film. Totally worth revisiting.

“Conan The Barbarian”
This 1982 film was directed and co-written by John Milius and Oliver Stone, based on stories by Robert E. Howard. The film features Arnold Schwarzenegger, James Earl Jones and others. The film tells the story of a young barbarian’s quest to avenge his parents’ death. A blockbuster fictional film filled with dark magic and savagery.

“The Exorcist”
It’s a 1973 film directed by William Friedkin adapted from William Peter Blatty’s novel of 1971. Starring Max Von Sydow, Linda Blair and many others. The film tells the story of a 12-year-old girl and her mother’s desperate attempts to win back her child through an exorcism, conducted by two priests. The film focus on demonic possession and it was named the scariest film of all time. A must see.
