Chris Adler is the man. He is one of the coolest, nicest dudes, and I’m still humbled as always to be able to share with you some of our informal, casual conversations. Here now for you is part of my most recent chat with Chris, who, as you well know, is the drummer for Lamb of God, one of the world’s biggest metal bands.
Lamb of God’s new album Resolution has been out for just a few short months at this point, and yet, Chris Adler and the rest of the Lamb of God dudes are looking towards the future…towards the next release.
“We have all been talking a bit about what to do next,” Adler admits. “Normally, our tour schedule is so heavy duty we don’t have time to think, but we really all made it a point with management this time to work a little smarter instead of just hard.”
So, Adler said that while the boys have had some time off, their thoughts have been turning to the follow-up.
“We have some time off here and there, and that’s got us all itching to do something again already, even though the record is fairly new,” says Chris.
“In recent band talks, we’ve been throwing around different ideas and time frames on when we might be able to get back at it,” Adler continues. “Not having the brutal schedule on the road only leaves us itching at home. We’re not a particularly lazy bunch of guys.”
Damn, that would be awesome. Adler says the band is just talking about their next move right now, so could offer up no timeline for new Lamb of God music. But he’s excited at the prospect of creating new tunes with the boys.
“My wife overheard me talking about getting back into the studio and doing stuff,” Adler starts. “And she’s like, ‘Your record just came out — you spend half the year or more on the road together, and you can’t sit at home and be a husband and a dad for a week? You have to talk about making another record…give me a break.”
Those who haven’t been keeping an eye on Adler’s Facebook page should know that today, Chris’ Web site relaunches with a new look. Check it out, and give him some feedback. I’m sure he wants it.
