He Can’t Be In Anthrax…

Dan Nelson

So I guess Dan Nelson figured, “I’ll just start my own thing.” He has — with members of Life of Agony and Arsis — and it still doesn’t have a proper name. Nelson, who formerly fronted Anthrax and sings for Blackgates, released several tracks online.

The songs — caled “Burden’s Crown,” “Troll,” “You,” “Task At Hand,” “New Damnation,” and the feel-good-song of 2010, “New Found Noose” — are rockers, to be sure.

But I need to hear more before I make my ultimate decision. Dan says “this is not a band, but a bunch of songs written with some friends” that he recorded.

We have no idea what will become of these songs at the end of the day. Maybe not even by the end of tomorrow. Joining Dan in the group are Life of Agony’s Joey Z., Arsis’ James Malone, and Aunt Hildegard’s Crock LaRock. I also asked myself, “Who?”
