Insomnium Announce North American Run

Go if you can

So, as soon as I’m finished writing this post about Insomnium’s summer tour of North America, I’ll be heading out into the snow that continues to pelt the New York City area. I’ll get in my car, start up the engine, and let her run as I wipe her clean of the white stuff.

I’ll then drive. In this fucking bullshit. Why? Because my day job requires I risk my hide more times than I’d like to acknowledge.

To pay the bills, I write the news. Today’s story: More Snow Blankets The Region During Winter That Will Never End. I’ve literally got to find people shoveling more snow, complaining about the snow, struggling to free their cars, or getting into crashes and write about it, all while hoping I don’t end up crashing or stuck myself.

The dream is dead. I was hoping this blog would earn enough to keep me from having to work an actual job, but it didn’t happen. I’m taking ‘em back…I’m takin’ them all back.

Anyways, so yeah — Insomnium will be back in North America for the summertime, and a string of shows with Omnium Gatherum.

Insomnium’s Niilo Sevänen says:

“We are very happy to return to North America so quickly! With each previous tour we have felt that we’ve clearly gone forward and gained new fans so now it’s the right time to bring a full headliner show across the Atlantic Ocean. We are very much looking forward to playing in Heavy MTL festival and that will be an awesome kickstart for the tour. And naturally we are more than happy to be sharing the bus and stage with our fellow Finnish brothers in death metal, the almighty Omnium Gatherum! Killer shows expected every night so get your tickets way in advance. See you all soon!”

By the way, Insomnium’s frontman Ville Friman kept a studio blog for this site as the band tracked Shadows of the Dying Sun, which is available here.
