Iron Butterfly Bassist Dies

This is a bummer.

I think “In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida” was one of the first songs I can remember hearing as a kid. That guitar and bass line were just so bloody infectious.

Reports claim Iron Butterfly bassist Lee Dorman was found dead outside his home in Laguna Nigel, a coastal city in Southern California, yesterday.

He was 70.

Cops found Dorman sitting in his car, and believe he died just as he was about to head out for a doctor’s appointment.

The bassist reportedly has had a history of heart trouble.

Dorman joined the band before the release of 1968′s In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida album, which sold more than 30 million copies.
