I felt bad for the defunct band Isis when this nonsense in Iraq started up again, because a musical powerhouse like Isis should never be confused with a radical terrorist group, known the world over now for beheading a journalist.
The band, broken up for some time now, has had to change the name of its Facebook page from “ISIS” to “Isis the band” to avoid being confused with the militant Islamic wackos.
The band started getting “off-color comments” on their Facebook page from individuals who believe the musical act’s ex-members are associated with the Islamic terror group.
“It certainly caught us off guard,” Aaron Harris, the band’s former drummer and a righteous fucking dude, told ABC News.
“Fans have emailed us that they’re reluctant to wear our T-shirts now and we’ve also gotten some off-color comments,” he added.
“Just like our fans, we’ve been watching the news in disbelief. We haven’t commented on it because we haven’t been an active band since 2010, even though our music does live on. We maintain our Facebook page to keep people up to date on our current musical projects.”
Members of Isis are also in Palms with Chino Moreno of the Deftones.
The headline of this article should have been “Someone At ABC News Knows Who Isis Are.” That blows my mind.
