You know, I often sit around my lonely apartment, asking myself absurd, rhetorical questions. I mostly just mull them, but never seek out answers for them. Questions like why are Grape Nuts called Grape Nuts when they’re neither grapes nor nuts? Who would win in a fight: Bruce Springsteen or Tony Danza? Who watches all these fucking auction hunter shows? Why isn’t Dave Navarro on television more?
All questions no one knows the answer to. Dave Navarro, who is currently starring in a credit card commercial, used to host “Rock Star: Supernova” and had his own reality show with ex-wife Carmen Electra. Dave is a reality television whore. And I love him for it, because he just doesn’t give a shit what you think.
I happen to love Jane’s Addiction, so forgo the hatred folks. I just think Dave is shameless, if only for the fact that he’s hosting a new Spike TV original series called “InkMaster;” the show is a tattoo competition.
The show will start airing in January 2012 — months after the release of Jane’s Addiction’s new album (which no one from their label has sent me yet even though I write about them every other week), which is called The Great Escape Artist.
On “InkMaster,” tattoo artists will compete to be crowned the best in the country for a $100,000 cash prize and a feature in Inked magazine.
Jane’s new album drops September 27.
