Yes, yes — I am fully fucking aware that Jane’s Addiction is not metal.
But if you dig guitar, and you hate hair metal, you owe a debt to Jane’s.
Jane’s were one of the first “alternative” bands to get major label attention and notoriety, along with bands like the Pixies. Without Jane’s, there’d never have been a Nirvana getting signed to a major. And we’d still be listening to Warrant.
That’s my opinion, as a lifelong Jane’s Addiction fan.
You will find the latest leg for the band’s “Theatre Of The Escapists Tour” at the end of this post.
Two of the dates will feature openers Mutemath. Jane’s is also playing shows in Boston and Philadelphia, but they haven’t been sorted out yet.
Jane’s Addiction tour dates:
8/6: Cleveland, OH @ Jacobs Pavilion (w/ Mutemath)
8/8: Syracuse, NY @ Landmark Theatre (w/ Mutemath)
8/12: New Brunswick, NJ @ State Theatre (w/ Band Of Skulls)
8/17: Brooklyn, NY @ Williamsburg Park (w/ Die Antwoord)
8/18: Ledyard, CT @ MGM Grand at Foxwoods Resort Casino
8/22: Pittsburgh, PA @ Stage AE
