By now, you may have heard Black Sabbath guitarist Tony Iommi has teamed up with Deep Purple frontman Ian Gillian, Whitesnake’s Jon Lord, and Iron Maiden drummer Nicko McBrain. If you hadn’t, Tony Iommi has teamed up with Deep Purple frontman Ian Gillan, Whitesnake’s Jon Lord, and Iron Maiden drummer Nicko McBrain in what’s being called an all-star charity project called WhoCares.
Well, yeah…these old dudes are getting together to work on some songs that will raise money for good causes. Fucking rad. And now, they’ve enlisted former Metallica bassist Jason Newsted and Tony’s soon-to-be-son-in-law, Mikko “Linde” Lindström — the guitarist for Bam Margera’s favorite band, Finnish “love metal” troupe HIM; he’s engaged to Iommi’s super hot daughter Toni-Marie Iommi.
The guys will appear on the track “Out Of My Mind.” Alright! By the way, how weird must it be to work with the dad of the chick you’re doing? I’d have a hard time with that.
The funds raised through the song will help rebuild a music school in Armenia. Tight! Details of the song’s release will be made available soon.
