I don’t know if you’re having this same problem, but I’ve been to four stores that sell records — including two Best Buys — and no one’s carrying the new Gojira.
I’m not sure if this is a good thing.
It could either mean people have snatched up all available copies of the album (which would be a good thing for Gojira), or there was some sort of distribution issue (which would obviously be shitty for Gojira).
This has nothing to do with Jeff Loomis or 7 Horns 7 Eyes — who both have new albums in stores, which I stumbled upon yesterday in my search for Gojira.
But Loomis and 7 Horns 7 Eyes have added a handful of dates around their upcoming tour with The Contortionist and Chimp Spanner. Those new dates follow at the end of this post.
So, yeah…I want to buy the new Gojira, but can not find the new Gojira. Alas, Roadrunner Records doesn’t send me promos, which I think is fucking whack. But anyways, I want to buy the new Gojira, but can’t find it.
I think when I head into New York tonight for the Death To All show, I will pick up a copy. I just hope I can find it.
Oh, and remember: This week, Jeff Loomis is recording. That, in my unimportant opinion, is a good thing.
Jeff Loomis, 7 Horns 7 Eyes dates:
7/10: Seattle, WA @ Studio 7
8/4: Columbus, OH @ The Shrunken Head
8/5: Detroit, MI @ Blondies
8/6: St. Louis, MO @ The Firebird
