Jeff Loomis Books Studio Time For Solo LP

Former Nevermore guitarist Jeff Loomis (and its still so crazy to me that I’m writing that sentence) has plans to enter a recording studio at the end of this month to record his second solo LP.

I’m super psyched because I thought Loomis’ first solo offering was regal. That’s right, I called it regal. At the end of this post, I have embedded three tracks from the disc, in video form. Go check ‘em out and tell me they don’t lick your metaphysical balls up and down.

Some dude Aaron Smith will be producing the album. “He has been a friend for a while now and has helped me out with various recording projects over the years,” says Loomis.  “We’ve been working on demos and pre-production for the past few weeks and are very happy with the way things are turning out.”

Soilwork’s Dirk Verbeuren will be handling all of the drums for the album, while Shane Lentz will be playing bass. “Doing drums, as most of you know, is Dirk Verbeuren. In short, that means this disc is going to once again give us all nice metaphysical ball bag slurping.

The album will be out in the spring of 2012, but probably leak in early 2012.
