You people need to hear this.

Just in time for the new year, former Nevermore guitarist Jeff Loomis has release a fucking kick ass metal version of “Auld Lang Syne.” It rips, and if you loved Jeff’s first solo album Zero Order Phase as much as I did, then you’ll agree with me.

Head to the end of this post to hear the track, which also boasts 7 Horns 7 Eyes guitarist Aaron Smith.

Smith is producing Loomis’s new solo album, which he is currently recording for an early 2012 release through Century Media Records.

The CD will feature a guest appearance by singer Christine Rhoades, who previously collaborated with Nevermore on the Dreaming Neon Black album.

“[Aaron] has been a friend for a while now and has helped me out with various recording projects over the years,” said Loomis.
