Since Howard Jones was affectively let go by the rest of Killswitch Engage last week, there have been rumors a plenty about Jesse Leach, the band’s original vocalist and our buddy.
Leach has been posting missives on Facebook that’ve led me to think that he was definitely going to rejoin the band, and others that have made me think “Nope, he’s not.”
One comment from Leach made Friday just cited a Bible passage: “Ecclesiastes 3.″
That scripture passages basically says, “There is an appointed time for everything. And there is a time for every event under heaven.” Or, there is a time and place for everything, which made me think “OK — he’s at least considering it.”
But then last night, dude posted “I go where the spirit leads me.”
That’s a lyric from a Times of Grace song, which would seem to indicate that maybe he’s not thinking about a return to Killswitch Engage.
Tommy Vext, who has been gunning for the opening in his own way, mentioned in a recent interview that he was contacted by Killswitch’s people about auditioning for the vacancy.
That would lead me to believe Jesse would also have to audition, which I don’t think I’d wanna do if I was formerly the band’s vocalist and I was all still friends with those dudes.
Again, we just have to sit back and wait and see what happens.
