There are a bunch of good bands out there that have gotten lazy or bored or busy and haven’t put out a record for a while. It sucks, but maybe bitching about it on this here metal blog will rattle some cages and we’ll get more sweet, sweet metal.
Through the Eyes of the Dead are a group of hairy guys that expertly straddle the line between deathcore and melo-death. They are based out of California and haven’t released an album since the crushing Skepsis in 2010.
Every time I hear someone shit-talking breakdowns, normally I agree. They are overused and unimaginative. In TTEOTD’s case, though, boring isn’t anywhere near what they do. Grabbing riffs straight out of classical and flamenco music, TTEOTD invigorate a normally lackluster niche of music.
I mean, listen to the intro of the song “As Good as Dead” and tell me you didn’t at least twitch your noggin or think about slowly making horns with your fingers in the privacy of your cubicle.
The only problem is they’ve been teasing an EP for like two years on top of not touring or releasing new tunage since 2010. Believe me, people would buy that EP if you just settled down and released the damn thing. We need more melo-death and we need it now!
Just release something already, before you rot away like the dude on the cover of Malice.
