Kayo Dot Playing Shows

Kayo Dot

I guess I am just someone who’s prone to falling in love. I have a proclivity. And that’s not good, because it often means I come across as fairly aggressive with females.

This has nothing to do with Kayo Dot, who recently announced tour dates for the states which follow at the end of this post.

But according to one of my buddies, whenever I bemoan my problems with cash or gash, it makes him (at least) feel better that he’s not the sole loser, still chasing the dream. So fuck off if you don’t like my filibustering.

I went to see a live musician perform Saturday night before heading to Zeena’s birthday party.

The performer was a chick I have had a thing for going back six years at least. She moved away not that long ago for school only to return recently; I bumped into her on a bus, and that reignited my interest.

There’s nothing worse than sitting in a dimly-lit bar, drinking Arrogant Bastard from a tap, watching this gorgeous creature — awash in burning light — sing her sweet, endearing soul out, all the while knowing she’s just not interested.

“I’m not looking for a relationship,” she recently told me. Kiss of fucking death. Unrequited emotions — they’re the pits!

Then I was at Z’s party, and most of her chick friends are basically 1.) Mad fucking cool and 2.) Smoking hot. Girls you’d basically marry on the spot, if things worked that way. Anyways, several interesting and entertaining chats during that shindig left me wanting more out of life. Like companionship.

I’m such a girl.

I don’t know, man. I was also talking to some dude at Zeena’s, who was there with his girlfriend. And he sympathized with me. “Being single is the worst,” he said. “Everyone tells you it’s supposed to be a blast, but that’s horseshit. Only good looking girls enjoy the single life.”

Someone find me a lady.
