Kids Do The Cutest Things II: 9-Year-Old Girl Sings Dream Theater

Dream Theater

Jumping Jehovah on a pogo stick!

After seeing those 8-year-olds destroy Metallica’s “Enter Sandman” like it was 18-year-old box, I thought I’d seen everything. But then someone sent me a video link in an email with the subject “9-Year-Old Girl Outdoes James LaBrie,” only they spelt it “Outdos.”

So, I checked out the video, and wouldn’t you know it — there’s this 9-year-old girl singing “Sacrificed Sons,” and I’m fucking blown away. I mean, I guess I’m just impressed, is all. But then again, I was singing deep cuts from Pink Floyd when I was her age, and in a way, Dream Theater could be seen as the Pink Floyd of today.

I personally think Opeth are the Pink Floyd of my generation, but what the fuck do I know?

The little girl — Sara — sings for a band Motion Device, a five piece rounded out by 12-, 14-, and 17-year-olds. I’m impressed — aren’t you?
