Killer Be Killed

Sometimes, I wish I was born in Brisbane over Brooklyn. Australia just seems so fucking chilled out. There’s waves to surf, alcoholism isn’t frowned upon, and the girls (at least the ones I’ve met who’ve visited New York or moved here for work) are laid-back and generally down for the fornication.

But then I realize in that alternate reality, I’d talk like Paul Hogan, and then I appreciate my Park Slope roots a bit more. But am I ready to travel to Australia and spend some time there? I’d love to. Whose couch am I crashing on and farting into?

Today in Australia, the kick-ass heavy metal supergroup Killer Be Killed made its live debut as part of the Soundwave Festival in Melbourne.

Video footage of the band in action follows at the end of this post.

Killer Be Killed’s self-titled first release is pretty stellar, in my unimportant opinion.

The band, of course, boasts Max Cavalera from Soulfly, Greg Puciato from Dillinger Escape Plan, and Mastodon’s Troy Sanders.

Dave Elitch, the band’s drummer, was unable to play with them, as he was busy playing with his other band, Antemasque. So Converge’s Ben Koller stepped in with his power and might and went to work with Killer Be Killer.

Here it is. Let’s hope more performances will be happening.
