Forget the fact that R.E.M. put out an album called Monster not that long ago. Kiss can do whatever they want. They can take an album title that’s already been used, and make it their own.
In early 2012, Kiss will release their new album, Monster. That’s the word around the metal coffee clutch.
Kiss actually entered the studio back in March to start tracking the new LP; at first, they were hoping to have it out in late 2011.
Kiss’ Tommy Thayer revealed that the band were working on new songs earlier this year.
“We are starting to work on writing some songs, approach it just like we did with [2009’s] Sonic Boom and keep it all in the band in terms of the writing, with no agenda besides writing great rock and roll songs that we love, then rehearsing them before recording them,” said Thayer. “It really felt good to us so we’ll go the same way this time.”
Paul Stanley once again produced the effort. “Sometime this year I’m sure you’ll see a spanking new Kiss album that’s gonna kick some butt,” Thayer added.
