I don’t know why, but lately, I’ve been feeling really fucking down.
More depressed than usual. Maybe I am manstruating — I can’t be sure. All I know is I have been questioning everything and everyone. Meanwhile, I have a big site-related bill coming down the pipe, and I wonder if I should even continue this site.
I will pay it, because I don’t give up that easily. But I mean, when is this shit going to pop.
This has nothing to do with the Monster Energy Aftershock Festival, but you can find those details at the end of this post.
I know I must be doing something right, because other web sites keep asking GSA’s columnists to write for them.
That blows, by the way. I am basically a one-man operation here, busting my ass to slowly build an audience without the benefit of advertising, and some unoriginal fuck at some well-funded site has to go and offer a columns to folks who’ve been writing for me for years.
How many metal musicians are there? You have to ask the ones who work with me already, you fucking snakes!
Anyways, how can I object. The more exposure a musician’s band gets, the better. And I wholeheartedly support every one of our columnist’s bands, and have purchased their music. I just can’t help but feel like a large part of me is wasting my time, that corporate metal horse-shit will forever dominate while competitors by the dozens keep springing up.
What the fuck am I doing?
Anyways, Avenged Sevenfold, Korn, Megadeth, Volbeat and others have been tapped for this year’s Monster Energy Aftershock Festival.
The event will take place at Discovery Park in Sacramento, California, on September 14 and September 15.
The show will also boast Shinedown, Papa Roach, A Day To Remember, HIM, Skillet, Buckcherry, Halestorm, Asking Alexandria, In This Moment, All That Remains, Falling In Reverse, Device, Steel Panther, P.O.D., Pop Evil, Otherwise, Airbourne, Soil, and Heaven’s Basement
An addition headlining act for the festival will be revealed July 1.
