Allegedly, that is the hot rumor. But remember, kids — whenever anyone loses a drummer, it seems Chris Adler’s name is tossed about as a fill-in. Why? Because Chris Adler is the dude.
Megadeth is rumored to have hired drummer Adler and Angra guitarist Kiko Loureiro to play on the band’s new album.
Blabbermouth is reporting the speculation.
The rumor suggests the Lamb of God drummer’s involvement with Megadeth would be limited to studio work only, and he would not join the band on the road to promote the CD, which is scheduled to be recorded starting on March 17 in Nashville, Tennessee.
The band has yet to officially announce replacements for drummer Shawn Drover and guitarist Chris Broderick, who quit the group in November, just before recording was to begin.
I can see this being true.
Adler did play drums on that last Protest the Hero album, and it had no impact on his work with Lamb of God.
I also know that Chris is a longtime Megadeth fan so, I believe that this rumor is totally true. Why wouldn’t Adler sign on to play drums on an album by a band he’s always admired?
It’s funny. It took a member of Lamb of God getting involved for me to care about a new Megadeth record. Go figure.
