A Lamb of God fan from Kentucky has started this online petition, seeking the White House’s involvement in freeing singer Randy Blythe from a prison in Prague.
Blythe faces manslaughter charges in the Czech Republic. So far, nearly 900 people have signed the petition. Just over 24,000 signatures are needed in order for the White House to consider the request.
“This petition is so it can be brought to the attention of the White House that one of our citizens is in need of help,” the petition reads.
“His name is D. Randall Blythe. He was doing what he loves to do — bring his music along with the rest of the band Lamb of God,” the petition says.
“During one of the dates he was taken into custody in Prague and was extorted for money; after posting bail he was not released which is a direct violation of his civil rights,” says the petition. “This petition will show that the people of the United States will not stand for this outrage and hope you and the U.S. State Department will do something about this travesty.”
Yeah, that’s never going to happen.
Unless Randy’s a campaign contributor. Then maybe they’ll do something to intervene.
Otherwise, I think Randy’s on his own. This petition will accomplish nothing.
