Now, this is a fucking cool idea. And of course, it just had to come from a band as awesome as Lamb of God.
During Lamb of God’s impending 2012 world tour, which Chris Adler’s been talking to us about for months now, Lamb of God, the band’s label, Epic, and 914 Films will shoot a feature film documenting fans and their personal stories of how they use the band’s music to cope with their everyday lives.
I can tell you how I cope. When I was unemployed and fucking just mad at the world, feeling fucked over by the government and “the man,” I would just blast Lamb of God when I was driving around, and jam the fuck out, folks. That’s probably not worthy of the documentary, but that’s cool. I look awful on camera anyway. Much better in person, ladies. Just saying.
Anyways, so Lamb of God is looking for one individual in each specified location to be chosen to participate in this very special event. The person selected will be involved with the full day of Lamb of God activities the day of the show in your hometown. That’s kind of rad, no?
If you would like to be considered, visit this submission page, and send Lamb of God a video with a written letter of 2,000 characters or less describing your life and how the band’s music has impacted you.
Participants must also meet the following requirements: Video submissions telling your story should be kept to under 3 minutes; You MUST plan to be in town when Lamb of God is scheduled to rock your area; You MUST be willing to allow Lamb of God and their film crew full access to your lives (home, career, family, friends, etc.) at the time of filming; and sorry — entries must be English speaking only. Because Lamb of God doesn’t speak Swahili.
As you know, Lamb of God has just finished recording its new album for an early 2012 release via Epic Records. The very cool Josh Wilbur produced the bad boy, which I was down in the studio for some portion of the recording of. I can tell you that I have heard two songs off of this album already, and they crush. One is classic LOG-sounding (think Ashes of the Wake era) and one is just fucking experimental and fucking EPIC.
