Lamb of God crushed skulls June 17 during their set at the sixth edition of D-Tox Rockfest in Montebello, Quebec, Canada. This was the group’s first and only 2011 appearance.
“This was it, and this — not to take anything away from it, because I’m excited about doing it and I know Randy is very excited about playing with the Descendents — but this was one that got snuck in before we kind of closed the door on shows this year, and we did so very purposefully to be able to have the time to write the record and do what we’re doing right now,” Chris Adler told us last month. “This was booked last year and was set up in advance of all those kinds of decisions. This has been in the works for a long time and it is going to be a way to get out of the studio and get in the mood to record.”
You can view fan-filmed footage of their performance at the end of this post, after the jump.
Lamb of God is currently writing material for the follow-up to 2009′s Wrath, which is tentatively due in stores early 2012.
If you want to read more about the ongoing writing and recording of the new Lamb of God, please check out our ongoing interview series with drummer Chris Adler, called Adler Chatter. It’s fascinating, and gives you an inside look into the new album and Adler’s personal life. In fact, this week, Adler is in New York City to track drums for the new disc.
