Arizona grind-wizards Landmine Marathon are currently recording the follow-up to 2010’s Sovereign Descent. Oh yes — it’s true.
The album is being tracked at guitarist Ryan Butler’s Arcane Digital Recording Studios; that’s where the band’s previous efforts have been recorded, as well as albums by the Funeral Pyre, Misery Index, and Phobia.
The band are about to enter the mixing stage and are shooting for a late fall release for their as-yet-untitled fourth LP.
It is expected that the band will be touring this summer to drum up interest in the disc. I am excited to hear what these crazy kids come up with next. And if that girl needs a friend, she should email me.
“The new album contains our most raw and vicious material to date,” says Butler. “We definitely found a great groove in writing and recording this record, everything feels very fluid. This is in great part due to our new drummer Andy York, who brings a powerful and tight dynamic to the band. I am really excited for the world to hear this new album.”
