Fucking tomfuckery! I am colossally bummed that I completely forgot that Glassjaw was playing in New York City the other night…mainly because I haven’t seen the band live since they opened for the Deftones a long, long time ago — before some of you were old enough to finger your own asses. But when I heard they played some new songs that aren’t on the band’s EP (available for online purchase now), which leads me to the assumption that Glassjaw are indeed working on a full-length.
Then, I was over at The PRP and watched the fan-filmed video featured at the end of this post; the sound quality was so poor, I started wondering if I was finally deaf. But no, I’m not…yet. I would say that the video sounds awesome…only, it sounds like it was recorded a mile away from the fucking venue. What was this thing recorded on, for fuck’s sake? Fuckity fuck fuck, I can not believe I forgot about this show. Not that I had a ticket, but I was hoping to weasel my way in, somehow. Oh well.
So Glassjaw apparently played two new songs — one called “Miracle in Inches” (which Daryl Palumbo says is about today’s politicians…and fucking) and “Vanilla Poltergeist Snake,” which is the song you’ll kind of hear in following, aforementioned video. By the way, while I can not confirm this at all, Under The Gun is reporting that Glassjaw will be playing the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival this April. If that’s true, that’s fucking sick. Anyone wanna give me a lift to Indio?
