Marty Friedman To Appear On Jeff Loomis’ Sophomore Solo LP

Marty Friedman

This is phat, no?

Former Megadeth guitarist Marty Friedman has “banged out a solo” for the forthcoming sophomore solo album from ex-Nevermore guitarist Jeff Loomis.

Loomis is currently recording the disc at Fastback Studios in Seattle, Washington. I wonder if Marty recorded it from Japan and sent in by email or if he flew over to Seattle.

Marty’s huge in Japan. He lives there. I wish I lived there.

Friedman states, “[Jeff] is a monster player, and he played some real cool stuff on my Future Addict CD.”

Yes, Marty — Jeff is a monster player. His solo debut, Zero Order Phase, was one of my favorite albums of 2008.

The new Loomis disc will boast appearances by Christine Rhoades, who previously collaborated with Nevermore on their Dreaming Neon Black CD; she will sing on selected tracks.

Shane Lentz is handling bass on the LP, which is being produced by 7 Horns 7 Eyes’ Aaron Smith.
