German/Norwegian melodic metal band Masterplan have called on Cradle of Filth’s Martin “Marthus” Skaroupka to record drum tracks for the band’s new album.
“We are very happy that we found Martin,” says the band’s Roland Grapow, formerly of Helloween.
“He is a very talented and powerful drummer and besides that he is an amazing[ly] gifted songwriter,” says Grapow.
Added Martin: “I feel honored that the band has chosen me to record drums on the new Masterplan album! I have always been a huge fan of Masterplan’s music and I am indeed looking forward to record the new Masterplan album! This is going to be a blast, no doubt about it!”
See what he did there. Blast. As in blasting the drums.
I don’t think he meant that, though.
Is recording drum tracks really that fun? It’s one dude in a room, with a producer squawking at him from the other side of double-paned glass.
The forthcoming album will follow 2010’s Time To Be King, which was released through AFM Records.
