Every year since 2008, the third Saturday in April’s been known as Record Store Day — the one day that all of the independently-owned record stores across the world come together with artists to celebrate the glory of music.
This year’s Record Store Day will see the release of several unique offerings in the United Kingdom, including a Rekords Rekords sampler featuring tracks from Queens Of The Stone Age, Alain Johannes, Mini Mansions and Desert Sessions.
There’s also going to be a Deftones vinyl LP called Covers, which will presumably include recordings of the numerous covers the band has recorded over the course of its career, and a vinyl re-issue of Glassjaw’s Worship and Tribute.
Mastodon’s Live At The Aragon will also be issues on vinyl, as will a split 7-inch from the ‘Don and ZZ Top called Just Got Paid, which is also the name of one of ZZ’s most beloved tunes.
