Mastodon Guitarist Victim Of eBay Fraud

Bill wants his guitar back

Mastodon guitarist Bill Kelliher needs your help — if you work for the German branch of the auction site eBay.

Poor Bill took to Mastodon’s official Facebook page to gripe about his recent experience selling a guitar on eBay. I guess you really never can have enough cash.

“I recently sold a guitar on eBay to a kid in Germany,” starts Bill. Quick — call a Whaambulance, stat!

“Now, long story short, he didn’t like the guitar so asked for a refund. I gladly said, ‘Send the item back and I will give you a refund. Well, he opened a case [and] somehow eBay Germany decided in his favor and refunded his money, WITHOUT EVER SENDING THE ITEM BACK!!!!!!,” Bill bemoans.

“Real cool, eBay. So when I opened an appeal to the decision, they asked him to send the item to me,” Bill continues. “He sent me an empty box!!! And I can do nothing now. eBay claims he sent the item back even though I have the receipts showing when I mailed it to him, it weighed 27 lbs. and when he sent it back, it weighed 11 lbs. They don’t wanna hear it.”

That does suck, but hey man — this is why I don’t eBay any more. I used to sell video games I would get for free during my reviewing days (and chances are Bill sold the kid a guitar he received for free), and I got harassed once or twice by clowns on that site.

I also got gipped after winning an auction once. That’s when I made the bold decision that eBay could go fuck itself.

“ANY HELP?????,” Bill pleads. “Anyone affiliated with eBay Germany???”

Poor Bill. Surely, someone must know someone who can help. Please, anyone — Bill needs that guitar back, man. He needs it.
