Mastodon, Queens Of The Stone Age Opening For Soundgarden

Yes, folks. Mastodon AND Queens of the Stone Age will be warming up the crowd in Seattle this summer on Soundgarden’s reunion tour.

But for only that one date, which means that Seattle show is going to be the one to catch on this tour, because not only are Mastodon and QOTSA opening for Soundgarden — so are the Meat Puppets.

If you don’t know the Meat Puppets, that means you’re much, much younger than me. The Meat Puppets were basically an awesome band that never got the full credit they were due. They were coming up with Nirvana, but never really got the same response from mass audiences. They nonetheless rule, and you should check out the video at the end of this jump for some Meat Puppet goodness.

After the jump, you will also see the remainder of Soundgarden’s tour dates.

The first leg will feature Coheed and Cambria, much to my chagrin. I was hoping the Mars Volta would be opening on all dates of the tour, but they’re playing the second leg.
