Not as a soccer commentator, but as a commissioned artist.
He’s been enlisted to record some new material for the upcoming 2014 World Cup, which ESPN will use during its coverage.
“Yesterday legendary Soulfly frontman and guitarist Max Cavalera, went into the studio with producer John Gray to write and record the music for ESPN’s World Cup 2014 coverage,” says a press release.
“Being of Brazilian roots, and with the love of soccer flowing through his veins, this is a dream come true for Max.”
Max’s kid, Zyon Cavalera, will be providing drums on his dad’s new work, as well as “some Brazilian flavored percussion.”
The 2014 World Cup is to be held in Brazil from June 12 to July 13, in case you didn’t know.
