In an online statement, Dave Mustaine of Megadeth claims the band will be coming to the aid of the victims of recent tornadoes throughout America’s heartland.
“Many amazing bands have come forward to aid Oklahomans since the May tornadoes came and tore apart their homes and lives,” says Dave.
“Now it’s time for heavy metal to give to this community!”
Killswitch Engage has, so…they beat you, as far as heavy metal help goes.
Mustaine’s Gigantour, playing the Oklahoma City Zoo Amphitheatre on July 16, is donating Megadeth’s proceeds from this festival to the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma.
The festival on July 16 will not be the only effort to benefit disaster victims.
At the July 15 show at ASA Hall of Fame Complex, there will be an all-star softball game with Megadeth and other bands’ members and local celebrities.
All proceeds from the game will benefit Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma.
Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma has been providing food for victims non-stop and will be doing so for months to come by way of a food pantry in Moore, which serves over 200 families each day.
