Megadeth’s Dave Mustaine said in a recent radio interview that he’d like to start a super group.
“I’ve talked to [Metallica members] Lars [Ulrich] and James [Hetfield] about me and [Megadeth bassist] David [Ellefson] doing a supergroup record with Lars and James,” said Mustaine. “Well, James never said ‘No,’ but it’s still kind of out there in the air. I’m gonna keep hammering on him. It’s on my bucket list.”
That’s just funny to me.
Mustaine wants to be back in Metallica so badly. It’s actually kind of sad, in a way. Although, I would be interested to hear this so-called super group. Maybe they could call it Megatallica?
Dave was also asked why Marty Friedman won’t return to Megadeth.
“Well, first off, he’s not welcome. I mean, it’s not that he’s not welcome, it’s just that there’s no position for him,” said Dave. “And Marty’s not as good as Chris [Broderick] is, second off. And Marty wanted to be a pop guitar player. He left to join a girl in a band in Japan…”
And he’s now an icon over there. And seemingly happy about that.
