A memorial concert for the late David Gold — a founding member of Ontario, Canada-based black and doom metal band Woods of Ypres — is being planned for April 5.
The concert will be held at the Annex WreckRoom in Toronto, and honor the memory of Gold, who was killed in December in a car accident near Barrie, Ontario.
The event will also double as the release party for Woods of Ypres’ new album, Woods V: Grey Skies & Electric Light.
The show will feature a headline performance by Chicago doom metal act Novembers Dooms, plus Kittie, Panzerfaust, Pagan Ritual, and more.
Admission is solely by donation, and proceeds will be given to the Gold family to help cover the expenses of David’s final arrangements.
Money will also be earmarked for the annual David Gold Music Scholarship, which will be made available to Sault College students.
