Metal World Reacts To As I Lay Dying Frontman’s Arrest

Tim Lambesis

Shit’s been crazy in the metal world lately.

Dudes have been dropping like flies, drug and assault arrests seem to be the new trend, and now, As I Lay Dying frontman and devout Christian Tim Lambesis sits behind iron bars, accused of trying to broker a deal with a hit man for his estranged wife’s life.

Metal luminaries are in shock, and most have simply expressed utter disbelief that someone they know could be capable of such a thing.

One of them is Lorenzo Antonucci, formerly of Sworn Enemy; Lorenzo and Tim are workout buds, and Antonucci even recorded guest vocals for Austrian Death Machine’s impending album, which was likely a front for something more nefarious.

“I know my brother would never do anything to hurt his kid’s mother!! I smell a setup, he obviously was in China the day he allegedly contacted someone to do such a thing,” writes Lorenzo.

Killswitch Engage, Times of Grace and The Empire Shall Fall frontman Jesse Leach posted a video online, linking to Bob Marley’s tune “Time Will Tell.”

“This song speaks for me concerning the Tim AILD Situation,” writes Leach.

“In this troubled world we live in love will overcome all things believe that. Each one to their own judgement, as I am not the judge. Each one to their own truths and tribulations as we both wrestle with both light and dark. Truth will always be revealed if not in this life then the next. Time will tell friends…. until then those with out sin cast the first stone.”

Brian Fair of Shadows Fall writes that he doesn’t “know whats really true or not, but my mind is blown right now by this news about Tim. Surreal. Like a Lifetime movie script.”

Even Korn’s returning guitarist, Brian “Head” Welch, is stupefied.

“Completely shocked, saddened, confused about Tim from As I Lay Dying,” Welch writes on Facebook. “I was just on his bus over a month ago. I feel grieved.”
