Eagle Rock Entertainment has announced that on September 25, they’ll release Re-Machined: A Tribute To Machine Head.
The set will be a compilation album containing re-interpretations of songs from Deep Purple’s classic Machine Head LP, which is turning 40 years old.
Metallica, Chickenfoot, Iron Maiden, and Black Label Society all contributed tunes to the collection.
“We were asked if we’d contribute to the anniversary of Machine Head — we can’t turn that down,” says Metallica’s Lars Ulrich.
The album will boast ten songs; Metallica tackle “When A Blind Man Cries,” which I’d be interested to hear.
Carlos Santana does “Smoke on the Water,” with Black Label Society taking on “Pictures of Home.” Chickenfoot handle “Highway Star,” with Iron Maiden covering “Space Truckin’.”
I want this.
