According to the official web site of Metallica’s unlikely recording project with Velvet Underground’s Lou Reed, whatever it is they did together will be released as a record on November 1 here in the states.
For the rest of the world, it will be out a day earlier.
Yes, I am psyched for this collaboration — which I like to call Metallouca — and I do want to hear what this sounds like. Its worth at least one listen. If it blows, then you’ll know. Metallica and Lou allegedly tapped Dutch photographer, music video and film director Anton Corbijn to take a picture for the cover of their upcoming collaborative album. I wonder if that picture up there is the end result. I’m betting my left earlobe on “Yes.”
According to Metallica’s official site, the band recorded “a full-length album that is a collaboration with none other than the legendary Lou Reed. Ever since we had the pleasure of performing with Lou at the 25th anniversary of the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame at Madison Square Garden in October of 2009, we have been kicking around the idea of making a record together.”
