Metallica Mega-Post: “The View” De-Loued; NYC Lulu Listening; More Big Four Shows?

So, did I hear you say that you wanted some Metallica news. Your name must not be Lauren, then. Here now is a heaping motherfucking helping of Metallica happenings.

First up, there will be a Lulu listening party in New York City on October 24 and guess who will be there? Metallouca — Lou Reed and Metallica, the dudes behind Lulu. To win a chance to attend said party, go here.

Next — Metallica’s James Hetfield and Kirk Hammett said that more Big Four shows could be forthcoming.

“Well, there’s a lot of surf spots I’ve yet to hit in the world,” Hammett tells that shitrag Guitar World. “I think we should bring the Big Four to Indonesia, Tahiti, the Maldives and Tavarua. But seriously, the vibe at these shows is genuinely good. We’ll do a slew of Big Four shows, go do our own things for a few months, and when we come back, everyone is glad to see each other. It’s a super-cool thing for us, and I’m sure there are a lot of fans still out there that would love to see the show. I won’t say yes, but I won’t say no, either.”

Said Hetfield: “We don’t know what’s gonna happen. We’re trying to cover the U.S. coasts, at least. Then we gotta get in and start focusing on writing a new record. But more Big Four shows? We never say never, because obviously, this was never gonna happen in the first place.”

And lastly, if you wanna hear Metallouca’s new track “The View” without all that Lou, then thank the folks at MetalInsider, who found the following video — made by a fan — of the now infamous track without Reed’s horrific spoken word jibber jabber; it’s all just cut out. And the song still sucks without him.

Lulu will be released on November 1 in North America via Warner Bros.
