Metallica Playing Shows In Germany, Letting Fans Pick Set Lists

Yes, it’s true — Gunshy Assassin is the best site on the webernets.

But enough about that — you came here for some Metallica news. And that’s just what your stank ass is going to get.

Today, Metallica announced that they’ll be playing some shows next summer in Europe. Three, to be exact.

But what’s more is, they’re going to let fans pick their set lists.

In tribute to their fans, the band will soon introduce “Metallica By Request,” the ultimate interactive Metallica concert experience.

They said the same shit about the 3D film.

Fans who purchase tickets online to these upcoming European dates will be invited to vote on the band’s set list.

Metallica will usually play around 20 tunes a gig.

Get more information on all that here, and find the three tour dates listed below.

Let’s hope Metallica add more shows to their schedule, because three shows is not a tour. That’s a weekend.

Says Lars Ulrich of this new initiative by Metallica:

“We are once again psyched to break free of the four walls in the studio to get energized by our devoted European friends for a couple of weeks next May and June. On top of that, the fact that all our nutty fans will pick the songs we play should be some next level fun and take a big load off my shoulders as the guy who usually writes the set list!”

The band will even play a new tune, they promise.

Those dates are…

6/4: Imtech Arena, Sonisphere @ Hamburg, German
6/6: Nurnburg Rock Im Park @ Nuremberg, Germany

6/8: Nürburgring Rock Am Ring @ Nürburgring, Germany

Tickets for the Nuremberg and Nürburgring dates will go on sale on Wednesday, November 27. Tickets for the Hamburg date will go on sale on Friday, November 29 at 10 a.m. CET.
